FAQs for our Yarniversity Wool, Wine and Wheels 2024

Q. How many people is the retreat for?

We have run this same event in the past, and in our opinion, the ideal group size is between 50 and 65 participants, including knitter's and non-knitters. This number works well for offering excursions and classes and lectures, for Via Rail train seating capacities and also importantly gives us the best possible package pricing for this group event.

Q. For the double or triple occupancy are you pairing people up or do I have to know people to room with?

Most double and triple occupancies are formed by our guests themselves. We are not able to pair up people. However, there were others who asked about a roommate for the trip at our last Makers Meetup. (A social event held via zoom every Monday at 5 PM MST). We encourage you to come out to the Meetup and we'll ask anyone who's thinking about going to private message each other with an email address so you can discuss the details. How does that sound?

Our travel agent, Rob at Fresh Tracks may be able to help with shared occupancy. Have you contacted him yet? He might have a list of people who are looking for roommates.

Q. Are the breakfasts and dinners that are included eaten all together as members of the retreat or just available from the hotel?

We don't have the details about where the meals will happen at this time. Once our trip is sold out Fresh Tracks will be confirming details with the hotels and with Via Rail, and will be able to give us all more information.

Q. I see that class registrations have started. Does this mean if I sign up later I won’t have the option of getting into a class?

Sign up when you're ready, but don't wait too long. Registration started October 15th and there are two classes that have maximums on them, so we're asking attendees to register for only one of those two. But don't worry, the other two events with Stephanie will accommodate everyone on the trip.

Q. Do I need an account to download the trip itinery and workshop documents from your website?

Yes, you do need to set up an account to download the documents. You should be able to set up an account with just an email address.

Q. Can I bring a companion who doesn't knit?

Absolutely. Everyone is welcome. Jasper Park is the perfect place to visit. There is something to do for everyone and for all ages.

Q. Can I come to Edmonton earlier or add days on to do more sightseeing?
You bet! The trip package runs from April 12 to 17th and many folks are arriving on the the 12th…..but, if you want to extend your time, just contact Robert Bahia at Fresh Tracks Canada by email: robertb@freshtracks.com or by phone: 604-305-4463 / USA Toll-Free: 1-888-304-2139.
Q. Where will we all meetup?
We'll all meet up in Edmonton, April 12th, at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton. Airport transfers will be provided to those who are flying in and Barb and Cynthia will host a get-together on our first night together.
